The UMD Model 490 Series Custom Industrial LCD Terminals are part of the Unique Micro Design ProtoLink Architecture family of products. They have up to 95 fully programmable keys. Both sealed keys (with tactile feedback), and removable keycap style keyswitches are available. The 95 keys can be arranged in mixture of half offset (QWERTY style) or "chess board" style layouts. Each of the keys may be individually programmed with multiple keystroke sequences. This ensures total flexibility of layout and means it can be tailored to suit your software exactly. The terminal housing is made of solid machined aluminium for added durability in industrial applications. The Model 490 Series also feature an inbuilt keyboard wedge, two serial ports, backlight LCD display and Bar Code decoder. This means all your requirements are integrated into a single, space saving package. The liquid crystal display (LCD) incorporates 2 lines of 40 characters. Cable connections are recessed to reduce footprint. An optional sealed cable entry system is also available. In serial mode, data is sent via a serial port. It may be used as a serial wedge between terminal and host for terminal keyboard substitution, allowing extra ports for serial devices. Power is supplied externally (either 5V DC regulated or 7-9V DC unreg.). An optional plug pack is available.
