On Line Service System OLSS:
  • This process is for returning goods to UMD and tracking their history and progress. This includes; warranty repairs, non-warranty repairs and contract maintenance work.
  • This process is not for returning goods for credit or the provisioning of goods.
  • Returned goods are not restricted to those supplied by UMD or their product offering.
  • Customers agree to conform to UMD Service and Maintenance Policy F141. (See extracted items below or view complete document at www.umd.com.au/smd)
Costs:
  • Labour charges for non-warranty repairs are $100.00 per hour, with a minimum charge of 0.5 hours.
  • All parts used in non-warranty repairs are chargeable. All freight charges to return goods will be charged to the customer, except for warranty repairs.
  • A minimum service fee (0.5 hours) and freight charges will be charged for No Fault Found repairs.
  • Customers will be charge a minimum service fee (0.5 hours) and freight charges for unaccepted quotes or may choose the have the faulty unit scrapped at UMD at no charge.
Freight:
  • It is the responsibility of the customer or the Dealer to arrange delivery of goods to UMD at their cost.
  • UMD will bear the responsibility of returning the Equipment to the Customer or Dealer using their nominated courier.
Items not covered by Warranty:
  • Where misuse, mishandling, neglect, adjustments have caused a defect, damage caused by accident, non-adherence to operating and maintenance instructions and improper voltage.
  • Failure resulting from use of the Equipment under arduous or unreasonable climatic or operating conditions.
  • Unauthorised personnel have serviced the Equipment.
  • Failure resulting from installation errors or incorrect installation procedure.
  • Where failure is caused by consumables not complying with the manufacturer's acceptable standards.
  • Equipment that has had identification marks and numbers altered or removed.
  • Paper jams in printers.
  • Normal maintenance and service adjustments as part of equipment operating instructions.
  • Consumables or software. This includes, but not limited to, the following items: belts, cables, cutter blades, diskettes, lamps, laser tubes, lenses, magnetic heads, print ribbons, print heads, protective stationary and windows.
