The FerroxTag FXT 1.2 Intrinsically Safe Series are High Frequency (13.56Mz) RFID transponder's, designed for use in harsh and potentially explosive environments. Its small size and screw mounting holes make it ideally suited to attaching to a variety of metal assets. The FerroxTag can also be glued onto the asset. A key feature of the FerroxTag is the direction of the engergising field activating the device: it is not perpendicular to the identified item but parallel to it. This means that the performance is almost independent of the material to which it is attached. Furthermore, the FerroxTag uses a high magnetic permeability ferrite material that enhances the performance of the winding thus reducing the dimensions of the coil and tag. These Tags are optimised for mounting on metalic containers used in potentially explosive environments where safety is an intrinsic requirment. The Silicon sealing is recommended for applications where humidity and/or liquids are present.
