Unique Micro Design’s (UMD) CardGate.Mobile platform enables Mobile Software Application Developers to build and integrate real time Credit Card payments into their mobile solution.

The CardGate.Mobile platform consists of six components:

  • Any Mobile Computer that supports the Microsoft.Net® environment with integrated wireless Internet connectivity (eg: Wifi, GPRS, 3G).
  • Portable Printer for receipt printing.
  • CardGate.Mobile TM Client installed on the Mobile Computer.
  • Cardgate.Net account to process credit card transactions.
  • A Credit Card Merchant facility with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia
  • Credit Card Input Device. Integrated with mobile computer.

Transactions are processed by Cardgate.Net a preferred supplier to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Cardgate.Net is also the e-commerce division of UMD.

The Mobile Application Solution Developer simply integrates the CardGate.Mobile Client software, via standard API calls, on the Mobile Device. Any mobile device that can support the Microsoft.Net® framework and has a wireless Internet connection can be used.

The CardGate.Mobile Client software takes control of the device, for secure processing, and will open a dialog box on the Mobile device, displaying the transaction amount and status. This dialog box will instruct the operator to swipe a credit card through the integrated magnetic card reader or via the keypad if one is not supplied. The card data is securely collected by CardGate.MobileTM Client software and transferred via a wireless Internet connection (eg. Wifi, GPRS, 3G) on the Mobile Device to the CardGate.Net payment gateway service by a secure link.

CardGate.Mobile Client software will return a response to the application which could be either “approved” or “declined”. Also text data of the transaction receipt is returned which the Mobile Application Solution Developer can include in their print output, which provides greater flexibility to the Developers.
